It's my favorite time again, Stylish Surprise time! If you read my blog or follow my Instagram you know how much I love ModCloth and especially their Stylish Surprise. So what is it? Stylish Surprise is a limited time event where you purchase a mystery item by category and only select the size. The cost is $10-25, but the value ranges from $25 to $250! I've received several gorgeous high end pieces for only $10 sometimes. Categories include Shoes, Apartment, Apparel, Outerwear, Dresses, and Accessories depending on what's available. You never know what you might get, but with ModCloth, it's always gorgeous.

P.s. they have had a little trouble due to such high volume, but just keep trying and you'll get through.

ModCloth Stylish Surprise finally arrived!
I was delighted to find my ModCloth box in the mail! I love the Stylish Surprise because you never know what you might get. Even though I was disappointed that I wasn't able to get a shoe, accesory, or apartment one, I did manage to get two clothing orders in and they more than made up for the others. Each clothing Stylish Surprise is $15 and the items are worth anywhere from $24-$249. With my last I received two dresses that I might not normally have picked out, but I loved when I saw them.
The first is the Spectrum of Style dress by Suzi Chin for Maggy Boutique. This is a multi colored stunner, light weight and fun for summer. Originally priced at $197.99! Which if my math is right is just about 7.5% of the original price!
The other is the Give It Your Wallflower Dress by Moon Collection. A gorgeous black and yellow damask on a heavier fabric with a bit of structure, not necessarily a dress I would have picked out, but still beautiful. Originally priced at $64.99, so another really great deal.
What I love about Stylish Surprise is that no matter what you receive, it's a pretty great deal. Sometimes, like this time, you will make out exceptionally well.
If you've ordered a Stylish Surprise, show me the pieces you got, I'd love to see!

ModCloth Cabin Fever: My Order Came In! Plus Great Customer Service
So excited! My ModCloth order finally came in the mail! At first I panicked because my package was showing as delivered, but no one seemed to know where it was, but everything is okay now! I had to restrain myself during the sale because there were so many beautiful dresses and accessories on sale. I bought three dresses and two gorgeous necklaces and a very cute note-card set, and everything was 70% off!
First, the dresses:
Shift for the Better (this was the most expensive, but also the best deal.)
This dress hangs a bit funny on the hanger, but the shape on a person is really great. I love the subtle clear sequins that give it a little shine. It's just such a fun, pretty dress! (I'll be completely honest, the dress fits a little bit smaller than I thought it would, but I am in the process of losing weight, so by the time I can wear it, it should be fine.)
Lines of Poetry
At first glance online I thought it was a soft sweater type material (I should have read the description), but I still love the dress. It's just so soft and feminine and pretty. I absolutely love this one and it was my boyfriend's favorite of the three. I'll most likely be wearing it for our anniversary. This dress also fit a bit more snugly than I had imagined it would, but it fits. (It's still available in another set of colors and to be honest, I might order that one too! Lines of Poetry in Deep)
Seaside Celebration
Oh this dress. Pictures do not do this dress justice. It is stunning in person. I love that the sequins are different sizes and the colors just pop. It is such a fun party dress. It just screams, "I have arrived!" The dress is pretty well lined, but because of the side zip you have to put the dress on over your head. I had a very hard time putting this one on and an even worse time taking it off. I got some pretty horrible scratches from the sequins because it partly flipped while I was taking it off. I might give this one another go on another day.
Next, the necklaces:
In Pearl Bloom
This beautiful little trifecta of flowers is accented with mint colored pearls. It's so different than anything else I own and I think it will be perfect with a more simple dress in the springtime and summer.
Versailles of the Times
Another dainty different piece. I love the filigree accents to it. Unfortunately this one arrived broken, but ModCloth quickly took care of it. I've been ordering from them since 2008 and I've never had to call customer service before, but they helped me out in less than 2 minutes and were super friendly about it. They're sending me a new one this week. (Update: I've already received it and the new one is in perfect condition.) This necklace manages to be dainty and a statement piece at the same time. I absolutely love it!
Sorry that my pictures aren't looking great. I need to find a better spot to photograph in my house.

I love a deal!
I've been doing a lot of shopping online lately which is something I shouldn't do, but it gives me time to “walk away” from something I like for a little while and go back to it if I REALLY want it. Plus there's usually a coupon and free shipping, which is way better than spending $10 to drive to the mall and then having to lug it up three flights of stairs. Well today one of my packages arrived (I've had something arrive almost every day this week) and I was happily surprised. I'm a big fan of ModCloth and I always want to snag one of their Stylish Surprise deals and I always miss it. Well not this time! In fact, I got two (and a very cute pair of flats.) Stylish Surprise is a really fantastic deal if you can ever snag it, you get a mystery clothing item in the size of your choice and it's worth up to $249.99 and it's only $15! I love clothes, but let's face it, I don't have the budget for my taste and this is a great way to get a fabulous unexpected piece for a steal. Also, ModCloth has the best names for their clothes. I got a cute dress that had caught my eye before (On the other line) and a top I wouldn't necessarily have picked. The dress has a great retro feel to it and the top is very 1970's laid back (You tan do it). I actually think my mother would like it more than I did and if that's the case, well I guess she just got another Christmas gift. So to sum it up, I got a super cute pair of ballet flats, a funky retro dress, and a boho top for just about $50 and got free shipping. Sounds like a win.
On the other line:
You tan do it:
Earlier this week I went by Burlington Coat Factory to exchange something... which means of course I bought something else. I have to say it was an incredible deal though! I normally don't like yellow on myself, but this trench coat just called my name and begged me to take it home. It was the last one, it was my size, it was clearance AND it was Calvin Klein. Originally $160, marked down to $30 and I had an exchange for $15, I basically only ended up paying $15! I don't normally do exchanges, I usually know whether I really want something before I buy it, but it was a workout top that was in no way doing it's job and looked really unflattering and it was bought in an unfortunate hurry.
Lesson reinforced: always try before you buy.
I'd love to know, what's the best/favorite deal you ever got?
