How to go on a free cruise

So you want to go on a free vacation? Me too! I haven't been on a good vacation in way too long, and it's been even longer since I've gone on a cruise. I found a fabulous cruise for next year that goes to Australia, New Zealand, Bora Bora, Tahiti and Hawaii and I plan on going for free. How? With Swagbucks. I've talked about Swagbucks before here on the blog and told you all the ways you can earn points for free stuff. They've added Royal Caribbean gift cards to the list of redeemable prizes. Yes I need to earn quite a few points to get the cruise free, but I fully intend on doing it.If you want to help me out (and earn points for yourself as well) sign up with this link. Send out referrals to your friends as well and they will help you earn points as well. Happy Swagging.

Tell me, what prizes would you want?

Lush Store Grand Opening Party: South Shore Plaza

Every time Lush has some kind of party or event I always have to work at the same time, it never fails. Finally I had a day off recently that coincided with the grand opening party for the new Lush at South Shore Plaza! South Shore is a great mall with tons of great stores and I think Lush is a great new addition. As part of the grand opening there were some great promos and freebies going on and of course I had to get some! If you've seen my haul video you know that I have more than enough Lush for myself right now (is there even such a thing?), but I was shopping for a friend's birthday gift, so I was able to justify my purchases.

Just for RSVPing for the event I received a free Karma Komba shampoo bar, which is awesome because I've never tried that one before and nothing is better than free.

So here's the promotions they ran, directly from the event page:
"-Spend $50 during our opening party day to Spin the Wheel and win an additional prize, such as
Blooming Beautiful Gift, Bubblegum Lip Scrub, Dirty 3.3 fl oz Shower Gel and Sugar Scrub
or
-Spend $80 during our opening party day to receive a VIP gift bag valued at over $25, containing 4 bestselling products:
Bestselling Dream Cream Body Lotion 1.5oz
Comforter Bubble Bar 3.5 oz
Sexy Peel Soap 3.5 oz
Ocean Salt Face & Body Scrub 2.5 oz"

So you know I spent the $80 right... yeah...

But I managed to get a nice gift of some I Love Juicy shampoo, a Big Blue Bath Bomb, and a nice sized bar of Sea Vegetable soap for my friend's birthday. Plus I bought myself a new Buffy because I ran out as well as a large pot of Volcano mask (which is amazing for my piggies.)

I'm going to post a review on some of my new Lush soon :)

I have to say the event was well worth it. I just wish I hadn't worn makeup that day so I could have gotten a free face treatment. Nonetheless, I got great freebies and gifts with purchase and cupcakes so it was pretty great. If you can make it to one of their events I would highly recommend it! Follow your local Lush on their Facebook page to know when events are coming up.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day Cupcakes! Hope the day has been good to you.  Greg and I will be celebrating tomorrow, since it's when we have a little time. We'll be celebrating our anniversary, his birthday, and Valentine's Day, so it should be good.

I finally unpacked most of my makeup so I decided to have a little fun with it and do a pink look. It was just a simple look because I was only going to work. Hope you like it.  I'm going to list my base makeup products in another post, today will just be the eyes and lips.

I started with Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden

My inner corner is Lime Crime Fairy Dust (no longer available through LC, but I have heard you can get it through TKB)

All over my lid is Urban Decay eye shadow in Woodstock.

On the outer corner is Urban Decay eye shadow in Ecstasy

Eyes were lined with Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion

Followed by 2 coats of Urban Decay SuperCurl Mascara

For the lips I used Urban Decay lipstick in LoveChild, blotted and then used the same lipstick in Hot Pants.

Side note: How pretty is this bouquet I came home to? Pink rosettes, white hydrangeas and baby's breath.

 Have a fabulous Valentine's Day!

ModCloth Cabin Fever: My Order Came In! Plus Great Customer Service

So excited! My ModCloth order finally came in the mail! At first I panicked because my package was showing as delivered, but no one seemed to know where it was, but everything is okay now! I had to restrain myself during the sale because there were so many beautiful dresses and accessories on sale. I bought three dresses and two gorgeous necklaces and a very cute note-card set, and everything was 70% off!

First, the dresses:

Shift for the Better (this was the most expensive, but also the best deal.)

This dress hangs a bit funny on the hanger, but the shape on a person is really great. I love the subtle clear sequins that give it a little shine. It's just such a fun, pretty dress! (I'll be completely honest, the dress fits a little bit smaller than I thought it would, but I am in the process of losing weight, so by the time I can wear it, it should be fine.)

Lines of Poetry
At first glance online I thought it was a soft sweater type material (I should have read the description), but I still love the dress. It's just so soft and feminine and pretty. I absolutely love this one and it was my boyfriend's favorite of the three. I'll most likely be wearing it for our anniversary. This dress also fit a bit more snugly than I had imagined it would, but it fits. (It's still available in another set of colors and to be honest, I might order that one too! Lines of Poetry in Deep)

Seaside Celebration
Oh this dress. Pictures do not do this dress justice. It is stunning in person. I love that the sequins are different sizes and the colors just pop. It is such a fun party dress. It just screams, "I have arrived!" The dress is pretty well lined, but because of the side zip you have to put the dress on over your head. I had a very hard time putting this one on and an even worse time taking it off. I got some pretty horrible scratches from the sequins because it partly flipped while I was taking it off. I might give this one another go on another day.

Next, the necklaces:

In Pearl Bloom
This beautiful little trifecta of flowers is accented with mint colored pearls. It's so different than anything else I own and I think it will be perfect with a more simple dress in the springtime and summer.

Versailles of the Times
Another dainty different piece. I love the filigree accents to it. Unfortunately this one arrived broken, but ModCloth quickly took care of it. I've been ordering from them since 2008 and I've never had to call customer service before, but they helped me out in less than 2 minutes and were super friendly about it. They're sending me a new one this week. (Update: I've already received it and the new one is in perfect condition.) This necklace manages to be dainty and a statement piece at the same time. I absolutely love it!

Sorry that my pictures aren't looking great. I need to find a better spot to photograph in my house.

Snowed In

Hope everyone in the NorthEast is doing okay. My house is one of the few in my city that still has power and I am really grateful, because in my house, no power means no heat. My family’s house unfortunately doesn’t have any power and they are heating up their food as much as they can by the fireplace and are still waiting to find out when power will be restored. During the blizzard I actually went outside to play with some friends (yes, I am 6 years old) and started getting some snowboarding lessons. Despite the cold and horrendous wind, we actually had a blast.
Now I’m tasked with digging my car out of the pile it was plowed into plus the 2+ feet of snow that came down. Once the car is free though, Greg and I are going out to play. As adults we never get snow days, so we have to take advantage of the only one we have.
In other news, I got to finally try my Oatifix mask from Lush and my face feels very soft and much less dry. My skin had definitely taken a beating from the cold wind and feels much better now. The fact that it smells like banana bread certainly doesn’t hurt.
Hope everyone is safe and that if you lost power, it gets restored soon.
Have fun in the snow!
I’m off to build an igloo.

*Edit: So I just realized that this didn't post when I wanted it to. My power ended up going off and on a few times so it didn't post. Also stay safe this weekend. In the NorthEast we are supposed to get snow again Thursday, Saturday and Sunday

Blizzards and Bubble Baths

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, I just finished getting everything into my new place at 2 this morning and I've only just started unpacking. I'm hoping to start getting the OOTD posts up starting sometime in the next two weeks and hopefully get the recipes up around the same time. Tonight I've decided to quit unpacking a little bit early. I'm super sore from all the moving and I fell down the stairs at my old house on the second to last day of the move. It's a very narrow wooden staircase and the stairs were wet and I slipped, so now I have a blue and purple buttcheek... lovely. I've decided to relax a little tonight with a glass of wine and a nice bubble bath.
(Fluffy bubbles and pink bathwater! It makes for a great night in.)

Here's my recipe for a relaxing night in:

Glass(es) of Barefoot Moscato (my favorite cheap wine)
Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask
Lush Comforter Bubble Bar
Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
Lush Pink Bath Bomb

(Never been so happy to have mud on my face)

Wine, cupcakes (kind of), and bubble bath, I'm there. Plus, diet aside for the night, I'm going to have a nice hearty bowl of pasta. I live in the NorthEast and we're hunkering down for this blizzard tomorrow so I figured I may as well treat myself to a nice cozy night before it hits.

If you're in the NorthEast please stay safe throughout the storm. Here are some helpful links to help you track how much we're getting and some tips to get you through. If you can, stay inside, cuddle up to someone, and make yourself some hot cocoa. Some friends and I are neighbors and have already made power outage plans, so try to think of those too.

Also think on your families and the elderly and see if they need help as well.
